My Work.

The biggest watercolor technique that effected my painting was pressing down and dabbing the brush against the paper, that is how I made the grains and the grass really show.
Doing transparent layers was pretty important because i felt like it made it look more detailed and showed a lot better, like in the grass and the grains and the sky, it looks a lot better then if I were to just do one color layers. I think i could of done a lot better on this painting specifically the sky, I should of done light washes so it wasn't as streaky as it is and it could be a lot more blended. Other than that I think I utilized all the elements of watercolor. For me the color choice that was most important was the color of the wheat straw plants because that really made them show and pop in the overall painting my craftsmanship in watercolor is not as good as I would like it to be, I'm not very good at watercolor I'm more into acrylic paints. id love to get better at watercolor and learning about it more If I was able to do something different I would do this painting in acrylics rather than watercolor because I'm not good with water color and i love working with acrylic and feel like i do my best when i paint with acrylic. With using watercolor i have learned you need a lot of patience and a lot of skill with it and to let the paint do the work, also to go in light handed. This project definitely improved my thought of watercolor and taught me a lot. |
